Environment – Shawcity EVM

25 May 2011

Shawcity describes the EVM, which was on show at SHE 11 last week, as a rugged and easy-to-use environmental monitor that combines several instruments in one. It can, says the company, simultaneously measure and data-log particulates, Volatile Organic Compounds, toxic gas, CO2, relative humidity, temperature and air velocity, thus reducing the need for multiple instruments.

The dial-in impactor allows easy selection of particulate settings PM2.5, PM4, PM10 or TSP, without disassembly, says Shawcity. A built-in sampling pump helps collect particulates, while a photometer provides real-time measurement. A standard 37mm filter cassette offers gravimetric sampling and lab analysis.

Sampling sessions and studies stored in the internal memory can later be downloaded into QSP II datalogging software for analysis, charting and graphing, adds the company.
