Free information - Arco offers first-aid compliance tips
30 July 2012Safety product retailer Arco has published a free guide to help businesses select the most suitable first-aid training and kits.
Arco say its ‘Expert Guide to First Aid Kits and Training in the Workplace’ provides advice on selecting first-aid kits based on current regulations, and makes recommendations on the size and contents of the kits. It also highlights the difference between the recommendations made by the HSE and the recently revised British Standards for the contents of first-aid kits.
The revision of the British Standard (BS8599-1 ‘Workplace First Aid Kits’) resulted in a new first-aid kit entering the market, which caused confusion over what is needed in order to be compliant. Arco’s guide advises businesses that they don’t need to buy new kits if their current kit meets the workplace’s needs.
The Expert guide also provides information to help businesses determine how many first-aiders are needed at their site, and to what standard they need to be trained.
To receive a free copy of the guide either visit one of Arco’s branches, or visit www.arco.co.uk/firstaid
