New work-at-height training facility opens in Humberside
A purpose-built training facility has been opened in north-east Lincolnshire offering specialist work-at-height courses.
Safety & Access Ltd held an open day last month to open the new building, which is located at the Centre for the Assessment of Technical Competence Humber (Catch), in Stallingborough. The site is an independent training facility, which already offers contractor competency testing for the chemical sector.
The project is part of a three-phase development of the site, which includes further workshop space and a second replica process unit. Safety & Access joint managing director Rick Statham said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Catch, which has resulted in the opening of our new building and our working-at-heights training facility.”
Catch general manager Clive Rounce added: “The expansion project has doubled the capacity of the centre. We have extended the facilities to accommodate the increasing demand for a local and highly skilled and productive workforce, as well as anticipating the need for trained staff in the Humber for the newly-arriving industries such as bio-energy, bio-fuels, the on and offshore renewable energy sector, and the associated supply chains.”
