Fire breaks out on Central London street

 

Fire-damaged timber inside the building, copyright London Fire BrigadeThe London Fire Brigade has been tackling a fire that broke out this morning (7 November) in Central London.
 
The fire brigade sent four fire engines and 20 firefighters to the blaze on Oxford Street at 11am.
 
A spokesperson said that the fire was coming from the first floor of a building under refurbishment. At 12pm the fire was said to be under control and had been contained to the first floor of the building.
