Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) has many definitions, but perhaps one of the simplest is ‘how to be the best you that you can be€ᆭ or you on a really good day’.

This fun and interactive session, exploring aspects of NLP, involves audience participation to look at the different ways that we can learn about ourselves and others, in order to improve our relationships with ourselves and others, and therefore improve the safety culture.

Internal auditing of OSH legislative compliance, if planned and conducted properly, is an effective way to demonstrate compliance levels and help identify areas of non-compliance.

This workshop will outline an approach to internal auditing that can help you improve both compliance and your auditing skills.

Mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) are one of the safest means of working at height. However, using MEWPs can introduce hazards that managers need to be aware of and manage appropriately. IPAF accident data confirm that the majority of accidents involving MEWPs could be avoided through improved management processes.

The IPAF presentation will discuss the core skills and essential knowledge needed, highlighting relevant guidance and possible solutions available to ensure the safe and effective use of MEWPs.

The Sentencing Council for England and Wales is developing sentencing guidelines for health and safety offences, with full public consultation on draft guidelines in autumn 2014. This interactive session will provide an update on developments in sentencing regulatory offences and corporate offenders, a preview of the Council’s emerging proposals on sentencing health and safety offences, and an opportunity to feed into the development of these proposals.
