I recently was asked to look at the H&S and Fire procedures for a company with several offices, over 40 staff. Nothing in place for either, no H&S Law poster displayed, no Employers liability insurance certificate displayed, no H&S policy, training etc. Fire Alarm not tested, maintained, serviced etc. Never carried out a fire drill, they would classify themselves as low risk, but they carry around large files both internally and when out of the office. Only needs one claim for a bad back.

“Unnecessary health and safety inspections of shops and offices are to be cut by a third” – surely it would only make sense if all unnecessary inspections were cut.
