Welsh Health minister, Edwina Hart, has appointed a former policeman to drive forward measures to protect NHS staff from violence.
David Francis, former deputy-chief constable of South Wales Police, and chair of Cwm Taf NHS Trust, will implement recommendations set out in a report commissioned by the Welsh Assembly, including placing police in NHS premises, and extending the use of CCTV and a lone-worker alert system
