Business urged to help shape enforcement priorities

22 June 2010

The Local Better Regulation Office (LBRO) wants businesses to let it know to what areas of enforcement local authorities should pay most attention.

The first five national enforcement priorities – those areas where the greatest risk to citizens and business lie – were set in 2007, with improving health in the workplace being one. The LBRO is now consulting on whether the priorities should be updated.

Policy advisor for the British Chambers of Commerce, Steve Hughes, said: “The economic climate has altered considerably since the current priorities in regulation were set, and the change of emphasis makes good sense.”
