Lone-worker protection – Sonim XP3 Sentinel EX2

Lone-worker safety specialist Peoplesafe has launched a product aimed at workers in areas where there is a risk of explosion.

The Sonim XP3 Sentinel EX2 is claimed to be the only intrinsically-safe lone-worker phone with man-down motion sensors, which are triggered if the phone falls, tilts, or is stationary for a prolonged period of time.

The phone is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and water, and is said to benefit from a durable shell to meet the demands of harsh working environments. Peoplesafe says the phone can be operated in ATEX Zones 2 and 22, allowing lone workers to use the phone in areas that can be at riskfrom explosion triggered by gases and dust. The phone also has an online GPS tracking facility, adds the company.
