Lawrence Waterman to present Rising Star awards

Lawrence WatermanLawrence Waterman, director of health and safety at the Battersea Power Station Development, will be presenting the prizes at this year’s Rising Star in Health & Safety Award.

The award, which is taking place at the Safety & Health Expo, has received over 150 nominations, with entries from companies including the HSE Science Directorate, 3M, Virgin Trains East Coast, and county councils.

This UK Health & Safety Week initiative is designed to celebrate excellence and success in health and safety.

The standards of the entries has been very high and judges from supporting associations, APS, the British Safety Council, IIRSM, RoSPA and BOHS, are joining with Roz Sanderson, SHP Editor and Heather Beach, brand director for Safety & Health Expo today to review the entries and decide upon a winner.

The winner, who will be announced at Safety & Health Expo on 23rd June, will receive a whole host of prizes to provide a perfect springboard for their career including:

  • a pass to the British Safety Council’s annual conference in September;
  •  a year’s subscription to the British Safety Council’s magazine;
  • one year’s affiliate membership with IIRSM, including 12 copies of Health and Safety at Work and Insight;
  • a place on a IIRSM 1/2 or one day training event of their choice;
  • two awards tickets to the APS National Awards in October;
  • VIP attendance at the prestigious RoSPA Awards, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016, including an invitation to the presidents drinks reception, in July; and
  • a 2-hour coaching session with Acre Frameworks focused on understanding and developing the behavioural competencies critical for success in the profession.
