Innovation, innovation, innovation – five things to spot at the Safety & Health Expo

New and innovative products are top of the list of what health and safety professionals have asked to see at this year’s Safety & Health Expo, which kicks of next Tuesday 16th.

Exhibitors have been surveyed to discover all the latest health and safety innovations that will be on display or launching at London ExCeL from 16-18 June and an innovation trail has been created to allow visitors to navigate all the newest products and services from across the safety and health industry that have launched this year.

In addition to the Innovation Trail, Safety & Health Expo is working with the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF), creating the Innovation Zone, located at the end of the trail, hosting a number of innovation pods housing a range of companies who will launch new products at the event.

ELT-400 EMF safety meter

An Electromagnetic fields (EMF) Directive comes into force in July 2016 and employers with workers who may be at risk from EMF need to take action. EMF are produced by many different types of equipment; telecommunications systems are obvious sources of risk for workers who have to visit rooftops or climb structures but exposure to fields from resistance welding, induction heating or other industrial equipment can be less obvious and the fields generated can be  much higher. If measurements are necessary the ELT-400 is very easy to use to assess compliance with the exposure levels listed in the directive.

Two-Way Radios used to be a very basic system for voice communication only. With the advancement of digital technology modern radio handsets have exceeded this single feature and now offer bespoke solutions for the lone workers, emergency alarm handing, and security.

We can now bring together a number of different processors, and manage them in one bespoke system. You can do away with having a text pager, mobile phone, GPS Locator, and manage all your voice traffic, and alarm systems through one user interface.

Kite Powered Air Visor

The new KITE is unique since the components are now build into the air duct in the head unit: battery, fan, electronics and filter. No waist belts and hoses to be worn, making donning that much easier and faster, with no risk of snagging the hose. It’s approved to Respiratory standard EN12941 TH2P, offering an Assigned Protection Factor of 20 and eye protection EN166 medium impact.

The KITE weighs only 800 grams, and the battery will run consistently for 7 hours. There is also a welding version available, which offers respiratory protection even when the screen is lifted up.
