Bookings are now being taken for this year’s free CEEQUAL Seminar, which takes place on Friday, 24th July at the Institution of Civil Engineers. Registration starts at 9.45 am and the seminar itself will commence at 10.30 am, followed by a light lunch at 1.00 pm. This year’s seminar will be run under the heading “Improving sustainability in civil engineering” and will include presentations by Costain and the ODA on the use of CEEQUAL on their projects. The aim of the event is to promote the benefits of carrying out a formal verified CEEQUAL assessment on civil engineering projects. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be broadcast live via the ICE’s online conferencing software. The seminar is sponsored by the ICE Environment & Sustainability Panel and is free to attend – however, advance booking is essential. The Road Safety Expo is scheduled for 12 November at the QE11 Conference Centre, London. It will team up with Transport for London (TFL), who will host the pre-conference road safety visit for international road safety experts. TFL id working with the Expo for a full-day road safety presentation on the achievements of London as one of the safest capital cities in the world for both motorists and pedestrians. The workshop will showcase London’s greatest road safety achievements and will be followed by a ‘road tour’ in the afternoon where delegates will get the chance to visit the London Traffic Control Centre.
