Van fleet’s high standards recognised

28 December 2011

Tool and equipment hire company HSS has announced its achievement of Van Excellence accreditation for the safety and standards of its commercial fleet, saying it is the first tool-hire company to achieve the accreditation.

The Van Excellence accreditation, managed by the Freight Transport Association, is an industry-driven programme that promotes best practice standards and is designed to raise operational and safety standards and recognise excellence across van operators.

The scheme recognises an organisation’s commitment to safer, more efficient and more sustainable van operations and looks at vehicle standards, road-worthiness, maintenance and safety, as well as driver competence and training.

The awarding body commented: “HSS Hire has successfully demonstrated the high operational standards required to achieve accreditation to Van Excellence.”

Fleet Manager at HSS Hire, Lee Jackson added: “At HSS, we are serious about safety so, for us, having vans that are safe to drive and drivers that know how to drive them safely is essential. And of course, our commitment to van excellence means we are better equipped to move and deliver equipment for our customers.”
