New pocket-sized guide for overhead lifting

04 November 2011

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has published a new edition of its user guide to overhead lifting equipment.

The pocket-sized guide, which is written by industry experts and first published in 1998, provides practical advice for staff responsible for overhead lifting operations.

The latest version is 132 pages and split into three sections. The first part outlines the UK legislative framework for using overhead lifting equipment; and the other two sections provide guidance on how to plan lifting operations, and how to safely use and inspect the equipment. The guide also features a glossary of commonly-used terminology, as well as guides for recommended crane signals and load estimations.

The guide is on sale at £8 for LEEA members and £10 for non-members, but discounts are available for large orders. For more information, or to buy the guide, visit www.leeaint.com or call 01480 432801.
