BSIF brief on new health and safety sentencing guidelines released
The British Safety Industry Federation has published its free BSIF Brief – Health & Safety Sentencing Guidelines 2016 to help organisations understand the importance of implementing health and safety practices in the workplace.
Alan Murray, chief executive of the BSIF said: “When you consider that annually over 600,000 workers are injured in workplace accidents, the new guidelines have the potential to prove very costly for organisations. They need to know what the new guidelines entail and this brief is a useful overview.
As the voice of the UK safety industry, the BSIF backs the new sentencing guidelines as they will motivate businesses to work to ensure their risk assessments are complete and their safety and health programmes are active and fit for purpose. After all good safety and health is good for business”.
